2 c sugar Procedures Put the sugar, water and corn syrup into large deep iron skillet (I use a 10? chicken fryer) Bring to a boil and cook to the soft ball stage. Add butter and peanuts and continue to cook until the syrup is turning a pale golden brown color. Turn off heat, stir in vanilla and the baking soda. It will froth up and turn almost white…immediately pour onto large buttered baking sheet with edges at least one inch high. Do NOT mash the bubbles!! Let cool completely, break up, store in air tight tins. |
