This is the Brigid's cross I've made for the swap.  It is made of dried grass, foxtail to be a bit more precise.  I didn't get to collect rushes this year, so this will have to do.

Beautiful!  Good job, Mattie!

I didn't think to take a picture of mine before I sent it -- but what a good idea.  Maybe we can all post pics of the crosses and/or brats we receive?  It would be really cool to see what everyone did.

I'll definitely volunteer to post pics of what I recieve (unless my Cill-Mate prefers that I don't, of course).

I'm not posting the picture of the brat yet.  Tomorrow, if the mail gets here early enough, I'm mailing them out Priority Mail.  Wound up a bit cash strapped right when I needed the cash, but we should have it tomorrow, and I've informed my swap recipient that it may be delayed.  *grumps at the postal service and her hubby's employer, who dropped the ball on direct deposit--  again.*

Wound up a bit cash

I'm sure we all understand that!  I know I do, being jobless now.  That's why I haven't been able to send the Kildare candles out yet.  Sad  But I will as soon as possible.

*claps like a little kid*  I only had to look up one word to verify that I had the idea!

Thank you.  I don't speak Irish, but I understand it.  The hazards of working with PIE and thus, ancient and modern Irish quite a bit.  I can work out the meaning (and often find I just know) but no ability to respond in kind.  Someday.

It's currently sitting on my shrine and I love it! I didn't know what it was made out of - cool! You should post the brat pictures too.

I didn't take any pictures of the brat and cross I sent - if the recipient wants to take them and post them, that would be cool.

Céann arís/ same again  Cheesy. Good on you, it's very lovely!

Nice to have a fluent Irish speaker here. Some of us are learning, but my Irish is about as fluent as a two year old right now.

Your cross is lovely!

Here's what I received in the swap - Thank You Moon Ivy!  Everything is wonderful!

Metal cross made by MI's hubby (how nice of him!  Tell him thanks!) hanging over the front door.

Another cross, hanging over the back door.

And the third cross, which was quickly confiscated by my daughter, hanging up in her room:

I also received a lovely little bracelet that I love, but it's in the room where the sleeping babe is so no pics of that, and a piece of MI's own brat.

Thanks again, MI, and I hope everyone had a blessed Imbolc.
