2 c. brown sugar Directions Bring to boil in heavy pot. Boil hard, stirring constantly until toffee threads in cold water (about 20 minutes). Pour onto buttered baking sheet. Cool. turn sheet upside down and break into pieces. If you want tidy squares, when the candy is warm, not cooled all the way, use a buttered knife and score into strips. When cooled enough to remove from the pan, then cut with a sharp knife. Optional Additions: Coat with chocolate. Cover with nuts. |
