Traditional Finnish Glogi (Non-Alcoholic)

Ingredients and Directions

1/2 liters grape juice
1/2 liters black-currant juice (unsweetened, diluted slightly strong)
About 1dl "glögi-base" (see below)
Brown sugar
Raisins
Peeled almonds (I prefer them sliced thinly)

Heat up the juices and the glögi-base and add sugar to taste. Add a few raisins and a peeled almond to each mug of glögi.

Glögi-base
1 liter water
2 pieces of ginger
2 cinnamon sticks
40 whole cloves
2 tablespoons whole cardamom seeds

Boil the spices in water for about an hour. Let cool and sieve. Store in a bottle or a jar, in the fridge.
