I'm curious. Has anyone read it? What's your opinion of it? I found it at a used store and got it at a VERY good price. FREE Cheesy I love those little cards they give you, fill it up and get 3 free books. Can you beat that? lol

Anyway, back to the subject. The book. I haven't had a chance to read it myself, but it looks interesting.  I don't know how accurate it is, but I thought it might be interesting read just because it is a glimpse into paganism through her eyes.

Thanks for  your thoughts. Smiley

Yes, LOVED it. The chapter on Traditional Witchcraft alone is worth the price of the book. I don't know how it could be "inaccurate" since a) she was Gardner's HPS, and b) she wrote much of the liturgy that Wiccan use today. IMO, all of Valiente's books should be required reading. Just my 2 cents.

Here's another review at: Pagan Bookworm review of Rebirth of Witchcraft.

I completely Agree.

She is one of my favourite authors. Although this is the only book by her that unfortunately i haven't had the chance to read yet, it is on my top 5 list of books to get next. Although I don't make a habit of endorsing a book just because a specific author wrote it; i make an exception for Doreen Valiente Smiley
