I figure if we, as a group of religions, are going to continue to use private homes as our worship spaces then we have to be willing to be very good neighbors as well. If someone wants to be an intolerant asshat after being informed about what goes on and involved in the planning for parking and late-night noise, that's one thing. But if we're not willing to work with the neighbors to make sure that everyone has access to their driveways and no one is disturbed by late-night porch talkers or finds cigarette butts on their lawn, then we're being just as intolerant and obnoxious, IMO.

Or use facilities that were originially zoned for 1, 2 or 3 family dwelling.

CLG has room for I think 2 cars in it's driveway plus maybe 3 on it's frontage.  That's not enough for 20 members plus the family that actually lives on site. Especially with such events happening 2 to 4 times a week.

On the other hand, no one "owns" street parking in Baltimore City. Unless you've applied for a handicapped parking permit and gotten a space designated. And you can't block someone's driveway. So people are quite free to come in and snatch up all the available parking for events. Working with the neighbors to establish non-nuisance places to park is good hospitality. If people still choose to be butt-heads about it, well, there's not much the cops could do if the ADF folk are legally parked, even if it means a few neighbors have to park down the block.

Legally speaking you are correct.

Routinely using more parking than your frontage is bad politics / hospitallity.
