My daughter is in middle school, and I have three younger ones at home.  I'll admit this whole h1n1 thing has me worried.  I'm doing all the practical things I can - hand washing, leaving shoes at the door, vitamins and herbs to boost immune systems, hand sanitzier, and reminding DD to make sure she's careful at school with the hand washing, etc.  I know most cases of this are mild and the patients recover quickly.

That said, I want to do a home blessing to keep out the yuckies.  I need to do this more to just give myself a peace of mind.  My worrying is just feeding energy into the problem and drawing it to me.  I want to stop, but I just can't seem to quiet my mind.

I regularly do a simple home protection spell with salt water, and burning sage and I plan to do so this evening, but are there any herbs or anything else specifically to protect good health?

Looking through the TC Grimiore, I found a "Spell to Protect Good Health:"

http://www.ecauldron.net/spells/heal10.php

I'm sure that it can be adapted to fit your needs.

And here are some protection spells:

Putting a few drops of certain essential in a diffuser will help too, that's what I do during flu season.  Wink And I rarely get sick.

First - it's been going around the school I work at, and all the cases have in fact been minor (and we've had at least 20% of our students out at some point over the past month, though I don't think we've ever broken the 5% at any one time barrier that's the next level of monitoring here in Minnesota.) Really, nothing huge to worry about, and if anything, this wave of it seems to be a little less harsh than the one last spring.

In terms of herbs: rosemary is a classic healing herb, and the smoke from it was used historically in temples of healing for that reason. Lavender and tea tree oils both have antibacterial and other disease reducing qualities, too. But rosemary's probably where I'd start.

Brewing a huge pot of chicken soup with lots of garlic and onion and rosemary would probably be my favorite thing to add to a working like this (or whatever other similar thing works for your family's diet: garlic and onion are also both major disease fighters.)

Funny, I had planned on chicken and noodles (home made noodles, even!) for dinner tonight.  And yes, lots of garlic and onion will go over well in this house.  Thank you!

Thank you!  I do have a diffuser I might have to break out.  I have done tea tree and eucalyptus in the past when we're already sick.  Never thought of doing so to ward off the illness in the first place.

I don't have any spell advice, but seconding what Jenett said, most cases are mild. About 1/4 of my school has had it, including me, and every case I've known about has not been worse than the regular flu. What's annoying about it is that the cough stays for a while and you just feel tired for a while. But it wasn't scary at all having it. Just annoying.
