Personally, I worry more about the effect my feminine hygiene products have on the environment - there doesn't seem to be any reasonable way to dispose of any of that without exposing something to my hormones - and then magnify that by every woman in Las Vegas...

Well at the risk of divulging way too much info, I would suggest cloth and a diva cup.  No, you won't be completely eliminating exposure to your hormones, but everything goes into the drain and is diluted with water before ending up in a public area.  We have a septic tank so I think less about it than if I had city sewer, but either way, it's way better than the traditional alternatives.
