I think every relationship 'serves' some purpose for us, there are people you can talk very deeply with, people you like to practice specific sports or hobbies with, people you like to party with, people you would 'steal horses' with, people you like to watch movies with, people you can work well with, people you do raise kids with, people you learn with, people you borrow things from, people you enjoy to have sex with, people you argue with, people who give good advice, people you like to help out...
How is this with your deities? What are the reasons you 'work' with a specific deity? Which roles do they play in your life?
I know this is a complex question. I suggest to just pick a few deities which are the most important to you and explain what you do with each of them.
Well, this certainly is a complex question. Unfortunately it is also one that I am not as yet capable of fully answering. As I am still relatively new to my path, I haven't yet had the opportunity to develop a good relationship with all my Gods. I will, however mention those that I have and those I have a distinct first impression on.
Hermes, whom I do not yet have a very familiar relationship with yet, is one of those Gods I was immediately able to sense an overall personality for. Hermes is one those Gods I would really want to be friends with, drink a couple of beers with, tp a house with. He would be a very entertaining joker and a great communicator.
Artemis is almost like one of those hardcore, self-sufficient women. She almost puts a big sister energy, protective of her friends but terrible to her enemies. She sort of reminds me of Xena on some levels, lol. She's a pampered daughter of the Most High on one hand but a warrior princess and a huntress on the other.
Apollo, the God I feel closest to, I ironically choose to reserve judgement on for now. He has so many aspects and such a wide sphere of influence that I cannot quite say, at this time, exactly the role he fills for me.
Demeter is definitely a vengeful mother figure as myths suggest.
