If any of you are looking for a good documentary, Randall and I can recommend The Rape of Europa. It details the incredible art looting done in Europe by the Nazis and is excellent. The blurb for it on Netflix says its one of the few documentaries that will appeal to both World War II history buff and art fans. It's about 1 1/2 hours, and well worth watching.

There's a book to go with it.  I actually checked out the book first. Quite interesting.

Yeah. The author appears in the DVD, too. This really was interesting.

I highly recommend it.

We rented that tonight, on your and Lyric's recommendation, and it's *amazing*.  I especially loved the part about Rose Vallon (sp?), the secretary at the Jeu de Paume museum in Paris, who secretly recorded all the artworks being brought in, who they were stolen from, and where they went.

Wasn't that incredible? There was just so much fascinating information in that documentary.

That was simply amazing work on her part.

My guess is that she was one of those rare people blessed (or cursed) with near perfect memory.
