Thanks again everybody. A related question, if I may. How long do you people normally wait before you decide that perhaps the spell didn't work, and you might decide to repeat it?

To me, the answer depends on what the spell is for. Some things are going to take longer than others.

Without getting too specific, it is a rekindling spell between a person and I. No force of will intended. I'm seeking the permission of this person's spirit guide to allow some sort of rekindling to happen. I was thinking, though, of doing another related but different spell (only one) before the full moon, or up to it. I'm wondering if it will be too soon after my current series.

Perhaps the spirit guide said no.  You are asking it to intercede for you, but if it does not want to then it won't matter how many times or in what forms you try to influence it magically.

You could bypass the spirit guide by going directly to the person, but if that is impossible or the person won't listen to you then any further magic in that direction 'will' start to cross the line.  Sometimes the answer is just no and there isn't anything to do but cut your losses and go on.

...I was under the impression that you were talking about doing different spells all at the same time (magical multi-tasking?), not just repeating the same spell. Some spells work best when repeated, others are 'fix it & forget it' spells - but you have to determine which way works best for you. Never be afraid to experiment a little - the worst that can happen is that the spell won't work.

Thanks again everybody. "Magical multi-tasking" got me thinking. What are your suggestions regarding spacing of different spells. For example, suppose I wanted to do a success spell, followed by a healing spell, then by a love spell, etc. How would you suggest spacing out spells? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Do you consider it like sigils, where my subconscious pulls from each individual one?

I know for me it wouldn't work. When I used to do spells, my magic worked best in highly focused bursts of released pent-up emotion and will. I used to follow the Moon, though, mainly because it's easy to remember - attraction/success/building spells in the waxing, banishings/cleansings/un-knottings/unbindings in the waning.

I did combine certain types of protective, cleansing & healing spells though - cleanse the person of illness, protect them from opportunistic infections & ask for healing all in the same ritual, usually using a poppet and the same collection of candles & herbs & whatnots.
