Does anyone else ever read something in passing, suddenly think ' What did that say?' and have to re-read it just to see if you saw what you think you did?

Noel and I were watching TV last night and saw a programme listing called 'History of Christianity'. We turned on the Sky information to see what the programme was about in more detail and it was about 'Evangelical Protestantism'-except that isn't what we read. We thought that it said 'Evangelical Prostitutism'. We were crying laughing...  Grin

Far too often -- and more often as I get older.

I do this frequently, most usually when I should have been sleeping hours ago but was too busy stuck with my nose in a book.

I usually find that it would have been so much better if it was the way I had read it the first time around-and a whole lot funnier!

Hubby and I both do.  Once he's done it once, he's often stuck; he'll spend the rest of the day misreading things off and on.

I have to share this one, even if I'm in the wrong forum (*grovels at the mods*)
I almost got into a car accident from laughing because on the side of a bus-ling, carting senior citizens to their retirement home, I saw "Tequila Assisted Living Association".
...
I wanna live there when I get to be ninety something XD

I'm suprised that you didn't crash-relieved but suprised. I think that you will have plenty of company if you go to live at that place!

Basically everywhere, now.  We've had a recent overhaul and have done away with the Full and Regular member divide.  You should now be able to post in any thread you can see.

In other words, if you see a reply link, use it.  Even when we had the board divided we did not expect members to just remember where they could post and where they couldn't - if you couldn't post you wouldn't see the link.

How about this for a variation:  Hearing things wrong.

My mom and sister are watching TV while I'm here on the computer.  I'm not paying attention to the TV so I was surprised when I barely heard a commercial promoting something called Elf Uncut.  Me being me, my first thought was that it sounds like a sequel to a (completely ficticious -- it only just popped into my head) movie called Lord of the C***ring.  Turns out that the ad was for the Will Farrell movie Elf that will be shown unedited.
