The reason why I have both cedar and emeralds is that I founded a second city.  If you click on one of the neighboring plots with an icon of a resource you should be able to see how much it will cost to take it over.  You need to have three boats, about 1400 bricks, 30-ish of several other luxury goods, and a couple of scarabs.  It took me a few days to save up enough bricks to do this.  I had to leave Abdju alone for awhile and restrain my click-happy finger that kept wanting to use my bricks to make things shinier in my original city instead of saving

Makes mental note.

Now that I think about it, how the heck do I find you guys anyway?

If you don't know this already, look in the upper-left hand corner of your nome map.  There are arrow buttons.  Clicking the down arrow will take you to the Bast nome south of you.  It has things that will make you happy.  

Yay!  A whole bunch of pretty, pretty emeralds.  I'm going to need to save up on the supplies then

On that row of icons above your resources, click the one smack in the middle with a head on it.  Entering someone's name will make them an ally, but I don't think it makes you their ally.  The little scroll next to their name will let you send them a message and let them know you've added them.

Thanks, I just added you, Shad and Aisling as allies.  Now I know who to go to for emeralds (before I get some of my own that is), leather and kohl (what the heck is that stuff, btw?).

If anyone comes up with any fancy tricks for selling things, let me know.  I can't seem to get my cedar and emeralds to move.  I have had to buy most of my luxury items.  I'm working pretty hard to make bread but I'm starting to run low

Well, that answers my question about the sandles.  For some reason, I thought my guys made all those bricks.  I have so many of each that I had to build the warehouse and upgrade it a few times just to keep them in

On the bright side, I do have enough to upgrade most of my areas.  I'm going to start with the wheat feilds and bakery first so I can be able to use all my guys.  I see a ship load of cedar in your future
