While we're on the subject of tombstones and since this is the humor folder, has anyone seen this tombstone:

What do you want people to say about you when you're gone? Or what would you like etched on your tombstone?

My little brother told me this one:

When I am dead and gone
And the world has come to pass.
Bury me upside down
So the world can kiss my ass!

Inspired by Scott Adams, this is a bit different than the one he's doing right now on his blog.

What do you want people to say about you when you're gone? Or what would you like etched on your tombstone?

Cremation here, same as my parents desire--but if I had a stone, I'd have to say the same thing my dad wants. "I told you I was sick."

Although I'm going to be cremated if I had a tombstone I'd want it to say: She was a good friend and we'll miss her.

I'd like for folks to remember me that way at my memorial too. Oh, and that I made them laugh.

Since I intend to be cremated there will be no tomestone.

But among other things that I think would be nice in any memorial  would be one of Tollkiens (Bilbo's) walking songs.

Other than that it would be nice if some of my former colleagues wold remember me.

Hmm, that depends on whether I get buried, or my wish comes true and I get burned on a funeral pyre.

If it's the former, I'd like my headstone to say "Roses are red/violets are blue/She lived well and laughed well/So hey idiots, fuck you!"

If it's the later, I'd like to have my best friend give the eulogy, and they can sprinkle my ashes in the locations I tell them to.

How about the bathroom wall classic?

I was here but now I'm gone
I left my name to turn you on
Those who knew me knew me well
Those who didn't can go to hell!

Or how about?

I can dance if I want to
I can leave these bones behind
Because these bones don't dance and if they don't dance
Then they're no bones of mine!

That's almost enough to make me choose burial instead of cremation, just so there are some actual bones for it to refer to.  Yay, MWH!

"She lives on in what she left behind.", meaning writings, music, etc.

I want a few of my poems about dying read aloud, and then as they light the torch and lower it to my bed of pine boughs and push me off into the sea, I want either "The Ghost of You" or "Moonlight Sonata" to start playing.

As for what they say about me...they can say whatever they want, just so long as they realize I'll haunt them if it's bad. Wink

Cool.  I'd like mine to be Ashokan Farewell.

Tombstone? Yeesh, I've got a whole mauseleum to fill with odes to the gods, spells, my resume, accomplishments...Basically, I've got to get off my butt and start achieving some stuff before I drop.  Tongue

Or, if I do actually stroke out at work tomorrow like I keep threatening to: To Be Continued...
