I was putting together a candle spell, and had an urge to throw in a gel cap of ibuprofen. Thinking about it, it suited my intent, but it had never EVER occurred to me to offer up over the counter medication. What's the strangest thing you've ever had the urge to offer/put in a spell?

I offer dancing and sometimes drum beats, but the weirdest was Poodle fur ( substitute for lambs wool.)

Brighid got some packaged cheese-filled sandwich crackers once, because it was the closest thing to bread and cheese that I had (and really the only food I had in my dorm room). Back when I used to work with Mictecacihuatl, I used to offer her cigarettes (legal and otherwise).*  And Lugh seems partial to Jack and Coke, though he seems to be OK with the whiskey on its own if I don't have any Coke on hand.

Edited to add: I don't partake of the illegal variety myself, nor do I acquire it for offerings anymore, and I don't recommend that others run such a risk either.

Not OTCs but I did offer up one of my favorite video games once. I was trying to heal my mother and wanted to show true dedication, at that moment my dog bumped into my pile of video games with Kingdom hearts at the top so I burned that.

I've since bought a new one, but I hope this counts.

Apollo got part of my Subway Spicy Italian sub this morning. XD I dunno what it is about the Theoi.

If my memory serves me, I believe I remember another member mentioning this as an offering a few months ago.

My strangest offering probably would be jolly ranchers.

I gave Eleggua those gumball eyeballs along with some blue toy soldiers and a dark stout (I forget the brand) not that long ago. I believe he rather enjoyed the gumballs covered in beer.

Some dead grass. I don't know why Sekhmet wanted it, but she got it.

Set wanted me to put a container of sand in his shrine.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sekhmet is now asking for a vial of shrine on her table.  Grin

when I moved into my new place,I was sweeping out the storage room I was going to use for my new alter space ( yey! a whole secret hidey hole all for me!) and got the sudden "idea" to keep the dirt and dust I had just swept up and use it as one of the ingredients in my witchs jar I was working on.

does that count?

Some mango slushy drink.  It was a really good tasting slushy though, so I can see why.
Also, a particularly shiny muticolored bottle cap (from a 7-up I think).

Hmm... I have plenty of memories of feeling initial surprise, so presumably that means I have had strange-offering UPGs, but I can't actually remember any particulars - I think, after that initial WTF moment, just the fact that it feels like the right thing to do means they don't parse as "strange" in my mind.

Sunflower

Yeah. This.

As for stuff that looks wierd on the outside but make "theological" sense... the weirdest might be solar panels.  They were/are an offering to Sun (and one of the most serious and best I've done, IMO) because the give him one more opportunity to use his creative force and be the Father of Life in a different way.
