In another thread, we started to discuss various materials that can be used for making Brighid's crosses.

I have a question about using corn husks (Matrinka's idea).  I picked up a package of husks at the grocery store last night (the kind intended for tamales).  Do I cut them into strips for weaving into crosses?  Or use them whole/as is?

Also, do I soak them in water to soften them first?

Thanks!

Cut them into strips about 1/2" wide, then soak them for about 15 minutes in warm water to soften them.

Thanks!  I figured it was something like that.   Smiley

I'm really looking forward to trying the husks.  Thanks again for the suggestion.
