Myself and two others are starting a new heathen/Asatru webcast beginning Sunday Feb. 7 at 1pm EDT. We will have book reviews, interviews with authors and other personages of note, band interviews/reviews, and whatever else we can think of to squeeze into an hour block of airtime.

Come check us out!

http://www.ravenradio.info/

I like this podcast and have found it very useful. Ravencast is also good.

I also found this new podcast from the AFA (started July 25th):

http://asatrurising.podbean.com/

I thought I'd post it in case it was of interest. The one comparing Germanic and Celtic mythology is interesting. The "racial" themes expressed in the text and the podcast are not to my tastes though. For example:

"The fact that many of us share both Celtic and Germanic heritages may indeed make us “general northern European,” but that is hardly the same as saying we are “Heinz 57″ or, worse yet, “mutts.” Europeans must not allow themselves to be divided by superficial differences when their similarities are so much more important."

Replace "Europeans" with "Humans" in the last sentence and I could get on board with that. "We are all one, but we are not all one!" strikes me as inconsistent and questionable. How can some genetic differences - and there are differences between the various groups of Europeans - be unimportant, and yet other, equally minute differences, between people with different skin colour be of vital importance? I worry the reason may be because skill colour is the real issue?

The podcast also quotes geneticist Bryan Skyes as saying all Europeans are related and it's true he says that ... odd how it's not mentioned that he also says in his book that there all humans are related and "race" is concept that is impossible to scientifically maintain.

Regardless, this podcast may of interest to others hence this post.

I may be being dumb here but I'm having trouble downloading the podcasts. I can listen on the website but what I want to do is download it to my mp3 player and listen while I'm doing the mowing at work. When I click the 'download' button it just opens and starts playing.

Sorry for being a techno-ignoramus but how do I save it to my PC so I can listen later? *sob*

The Raven Radio podcasts are available at no cost on iTunes. Smiley I'm not sure about any of the other ones though....

If the iTunes thing doesn't work out for you--I'd try right-clicking on the Download button and choosing "Save Target As..." (might be worded a little differently in different browsers) from the pop-up menu that appears.  It sounds like the button is just a link to the file and your computer's set up to play such files instead of saving them.
