Well, first up, I'd take a look at your particular area, and see what kinds of fair folk would be around.  I don't know what experiences you've had, but the fair folk aren't always nice, and they aren't always good.  You'll want some sort of protection, I think.

But that's sort of where my knowledge of them ends.  Someone more used to them would be able to tell you more.

They grow everywhere around where I live, there's a really big fairy ring that grows in a small field by my house, and when I was young I remember something giving me a distinct hello while passing and thanks for the help
