Seconding what Catja said and adding that the reason they are called "The Fair Folk" is because if they found out you called them something more accurate, something unpleasent might just happen to you.

Also, with mushrooms you need to be careful.  There are many types out there that are poisonous and even experts sometimes have trouble telling the dangerous species from safe ones.  This could be a problem if you have kids or pets.  Plus, before you know it the damn things will invade your yard.
