I can't speak for anyone else, but I've had two encounters with the Good Folk, and that's more than enough for me. I leave them offerings to placate them when it seems like a good idea (usually some expensive honey) but under no circumstances would I actively attempt a relationship. They are not the pretty little fairies of the Victorian era, with flower petal dresses and butterfly wings.
For example: Kelpies. They take the form of a horse and if someone tries to ride them, they will jump into a lake or river and eat the fool.
