I've been thinking about this thread, but putting it off because it seems soooo broad! But I'll take a stab at it and see what happens.

Do you believe the gods have individual personalities?  Why or why not?
Yes. The lore and my own experience clearly show they have different characteristics.

From the lore or sagas or other source material, how would you describe the personalities of the different gods?

If someone asked you what the gods were like, what would you say?
These questions are kind of stumping me; too broad. Speaking over the pantheon, IMHO I get the sense the Norse gods are more like a family than, say, the Greek gods. They seem more intimate or close-knit to me; they seem to know each other well (for better and worse, ha).

Two things from the lore that stick out to me. One is the story in the Prose Edda (I'm not sure if there's some more official name for this tale?) of Thor's trek where they meet the giant Skrymir and then there are the eating and drinking contests, a race, and Thor lifts the "cat" and fights the old woman... I won't give the story away, but it is a great story! Highly entertaining and funny too.

Another time, I totally forget where, was when Thor has a horse I think he wants to give to his son (Huh), and Odin says something like "You should be giving this great horse to your FATHER!" because he's jealous. Oh man, I don't know why but that just struck me as hilarious.

What experiences have helped you understand their specific personalities better?
Reading, and I should do more reading! And you've got to read with intent. And meditation or prayer, or sometimes things in life will just stick out and remind me of the gods. For example, don't tell anyone, but Emmett in Twilight reminds me of Thor... lmao. Cheesy
