I just wanted to let those who requested them know that I FINALLY got the Kildare candles into the mail today.  So you should be receiving them shortly.  I'm in the Washington, DC, area -- that might help you estimate their arrival.

A Kildare candle is a candle that has been lit by a candle that was lit from the eternal flame kept in Kildare, Ireland, in Brighid's honor (info on the perpetual flame), and therefore is thought to house a spark of that sacred flame.

I'm making this a standing offer for anyone who wants a Kildare candle.  Just let me know by PMing or emailing me (moonivy53@gmail.com).  It might take me a while to get it into the mail, but I'll get it to you eventually.  Wink

<bounces (gently, since I'm still recuperating) with anticipation>

On the one hand it's going from one major centre to another, which can be very rapid (or not - I dunno about US Mail, but Canada Post can be bafflingly erratic); on the other, it's got an international border to cross.  Could get here as soon as early next week, might be quite a bit longer, but it'll very likely arrive before I cross that border myself (17 Mar).

What with one thing and agall bladdernother, I haven't yet done a "Festival of Returning Light" (at this late date, it really doesn't seem right to call it Brigidfeast, even with a modifier like "late" or "delayed" - but my year won't feel right if I've missed playing "Here Comes the Sun" while lighting a flock of candles and watching the room get brighter and brighter!); I don't quite feel fit enough for it just yet, but I can now hope my Kildare candle will be here for it!

Cheesy Nothing particularly Irish this year; I'll have enough countries on my mind as I go from Canada to the US.  But if opportunity arises, I'm not likely to turn my nose up at it.

And it is - it arrived today, in plenty of time for me to be able to choose the date of my ritual for my own convenience.  Thank you!

Just wanted to say I received mine and made use of it for my last shift a few days ago--thank you so much! Smiley

Sorry I've been MIA around here for the last several weeks and haven't responded to yours and and a few others' posts on various other threads... Major life-changes are afoot that have kept me away from the computer and in a hyper-mode of planning (and not a little bit of giddying about Wink). But I'm hoping things have calmed down enough now that I'll be back here checking in on a regular basis!

I got my candle a few days ago and didn't have a chance to open the package till earlier today. When I held the candle, I could *feel* Brighid's flame in it (even unlit), and setting it by my bed meant I got the first decent sleep in weeks.

Thank you Moon Ivy. Smiley
