Those changes are disturbing.   Embarrassed

What I don't understand, though, is how costal Northern CA, and the Valley of the Sun, AZ, are both zone 9 (both in 1990 and 2006)?  I grew up in the first area and now live in the 2nd, and I can guarantee - completely different climate and flora.  The only thing they have in common is that ground freeze is rare.  But even that happens much more regularly in NorCal than it does in Phoenix. 

I don't get it.  Am I reading something wrong?

Living in Texas, I've found the usual hardiness map to be of limited benefit...I've used it as a vague, general sort of guide.  What has helped more is the hardiness map for heat. I suspect you'd relate better to that map (I know I did).
