Hi, Cill-Mates and other Brighid Folk.  Cheesy

I just discovered this for sale on Etsy and thought I should share.  I'm saving my pennies now.  Wink

This shop also has these in various colors.  It's one of the traditional designs for Brighid's crosses, although not the one that is most familiar -- at least in the US.  They don't look too hard to make, unless you're a total klutz like me.  Tongue

We used to make those in fundie school, only they were supposedly a representation of the eyes of God. The most challenging thing would be getting the rowan sticks.

I want that candle! Too bad I can't buy it. Sad I've been looking for Brighid/Saint Brigit candles in my city, unsuccesfully, so I'm just offering Her plain white candles.

Thanks for the link.  Her ogham sticks are gorgeous!

Unfortunately she doesn't make them anymore, as the process is too time consuming. Sad I think she does make simpler ones for sale still, though.

Love this!!!  I wonder how she makes the candles?  How does she put the art on the glass?

Making container candles like this really isn't that hard, once you understand how the variables interact (type of wax, size and shape of container, type and size of wick) and it's actually a lot of fun.

And I've done glass etching (or, rather, I watched my husband do glass etching  Wink ), but I don't know how to do this particular kind of glass art.  I think it's probably an applied design -- the art is done on adhesive plastic sheets and applied to the glass.

*pokes artist-type dp* hey! make me one of those fancy candles!  Lol, seriously though, maybe he could make one for me.  He is rather handy at the art thing, in fact he is making his own set of rune staves and promises to make me Ogham fews as well.

On the other hand, I do have a credit card...lol.
