Speaking of hats, I've temporarily modified the permissions Regular members have so that everyone can use a remotely-hosted avatar. This will let those who wish to don a silly hat in honor of Chavi on April First. I'll leave the permission on for a few days after that so they can be changed back.

That's a good idea.
Found my gravatar, hope it's silly enough.

My candle and I will be there.

I continue to be amazed at the supportive, caring community here on TC.  It's good to have friends.  Smiley

I don't know if it'll be at 8pm for logistical reasons, but I'll light a candle for Chavi at some point during the day.

We are asking all Cauldron members who knew her, knew of her, or who did not know her but just want to help honor a wonderful person (and wish to participate) to light a candle in her honor at 8pm your local time on April 1st and let it burn for at least an hour.

Count me in. I'll light a candle at 8 pm Argentinian time. I'll try to get a bigger candle than last year (which lasted only 45 minutes, IIRC), and let it burn for as long as it lasts.

If you want to participate, please post in here. Everyone, regardless of religion, is welcome to participate.  If you can't participate at 8pm your time, feel free to pick a different hour, Chavi would not have cared. Smiley

I have to go find my hat and I'll have a candle lit for a good part of the evening, starting at 8 p.m. Pacific.

I didn't know her, but I will gladly light a candle. Can't guarantee it'll be at 8, but a candle will be lit for a few hours at some point on the first- PST.

I am in. I did not meet her, but read her posts. A candle will be lighted for her in the middle of the desert.

I think this year I will, for the first time, break out a silly hat.

I haven't said so yet, but of course I'm in.  Probably for more than an hour, but we'll see how the day goes.

I was going to make a version of my avatar with a silly hat, but the Lego avatar-maker is gone Sad.  Site's still up, but there seems to be nothing there but the webcomic.  So the witch hat will have to be silly enough.

I wish I had the tech to add a silly hat to my Reaper.  I'm just going to change my avatar to one of the board's candle pics instead.
