I was at the grocery store last week and an announcement came over the PA stating "There's one thing ALL moms love--hanging baskets."  To which I responded...out loud and maybe a little too adamantly, "I have no strong feelings about them one way or the other..."  Wink

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Chris and I celebrated it pretty much all weekend. He's getting excited about the baby now, and buys into the whole "You're pregnant, therefore you're a mom now" thing and wouldn't let me argue with him. We went out to eat Friday. Saturday was an errands day but after Costco and finding out he needs a new ball joint for the truck before it can pass inspection we went maternity clothes shopping (second hand, 3 outfits from Motherhood and Old Navy cost me a total of $24. SQUEE!) and then came home to a full body massage. This morning the men in the house made breakfast and we had a relaxing day not doing anything. Chris and I watched the Blind Side, and the animation domination. I have a lot to catch up tomorrow, but all in all it was a nice weekend. It will probably be my only calm Mother's Day for a while.  Smiley

Oh, that is a relief, and about time too! Congratulations on him finally getting his head in the right place......

First Mother's Day present I ever got?  From my in-laws, the first Mother's Day after Hubby and I got married.  We had no children, I was not pregnant, we were taking every precaution against pregnancy and weren't actually sure we would ever have kids, and they knew it.  It...  really threw me off.  "Wait, but... I'm not a mom!"

And I know how all that sounds, but they weren't actually trying to be pushy about us having kids.  (That was more my mom.  "What do you want for Christmas, Star?"  Mom, before I could reply:  "A baby?")  MIL in particular was just so ecstatic that Hubby had found someone she approved of to settle down with and gone about doing so responsibly (which was not so much the case with his elder brother) that she was taking any excuse to show a little love.  It was more cute than overbearing, but still.

I got a painted clay goldfish.  With Maddy inscribed on the bottom.  I looked at Katherine and she said. "mrs Anderson put the wrong name on it."  Apparently Maddy's mom is getting somethign with Katherine on the bottom of it.

Oh well, it's the thought that counts. I guess.
