Peter,

Not sure how political it is, but I believe they say that repeated non-American spellings will get the user locked out of making changes. I'd have to go back and see. That request, in and of itself, probably wouldn't bother me so much if I didn't know the reason for it was xenophobia.

I was thinking in terms that their xenophobia was a political position. Same with the BC / BCE.

I suspect that it is, though you'd play merry hell getting them to admit it.

Most of the persecution complex that I see coming from the Right just puzzles the hell out of me...always has.

Maybe that's because you use too many brain cells to achieve their level of ridiculousness

A "conservative" version of Wikipedia? *lmao* Do they know what'll happen to that when Colbert finds out about it?  My gods, it'll be mayhem.  Cheesy

BTW, CE can stand for either "common era" or "Christian era".  I've had different professors who use one or the other.  It is supposed to be "common era", really, but think about it... what is the start of the "common" era?  It's the same as using AD, just with a different name.  I do prefer to use CE, though.  It just sounds more "plain English" to me.

But how will we ever find it in the grey mists???

LOL!  I guess I'm lucky, 'cause I wasn't around for that.  I get to go to Hell, then.  Yay?  Huh

Actually, if I understand the wording of the curse correctly, it covered all present and future members of TC, whether they were aware when they joined or not.  I wasn't around then, either, but I've read about it on the 'notable threads' (or somesuch) section of the website.

So, no hell for you.  You're doomed to 'wonder' with the rest of us. Smiley
