I think that would actually be a really good cartoon rendition concept.

It could be at that.  They usually get bogged down in message, without thinking that sometimes entertainment is the best way to convey said message.

Unfortunately such a musical would never get made.  Especially if they decided to put in scenes of the citizens of Jerusalem running out and buying Jesus action figures on Palm Sunday.

This made me die laughing.  It brought to mind the "Buddy Jesus" action figures.

Sure it'd get made. South Park has done a million worse things and gotten into theaters.

Or Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter?

(Or is it Zombie Hunter? Takes one to know one, after all.)

That just reminds me of a horrible Easter greeting.  "Happy zombie Jesus day!"

Wouldn't Columbus Day be better suited for that greeting?

In Canada, they're the same holiday.

Oh.... Embarrassed

What does it say about the US having two national/federal holidays that can be called Genocide Day?

That we are a very optimistic, upbeat, life-affirming country.

So instead of Jesus being crucified and rising from the dead, the musical would have him becoming a zombie to...destroy zombies?
