One of my favorite sites is the On Faith project hosted by the Washington Post and Newsweek. It's got a pretty good balance of religions, and they talk about current events in the religion world each week. While it's slightly Christian-biased and a lot of the commenters are jerks (both to be pretty well expected for an interfaith project on the Internet), the panelist columns, blogs and "Guest Voices" columns are all pretty fascinating looks into various religions and beliefs.
One thing I've noticed, though, is that they don't really have a lot of minority viewpoints — there are several commenters each from the "Big Five" religions, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism — but the others are not very represented. Starhawk is their only pagan panelist, and she rarely comments on the panel question of the week. While there have been a few pagan-friendly columns since then, most of the times pagan religions are brought up, they're in a negative light.
So I figured I'd "boost the signal" around: The Guest Voices feature is currently looking for conversion stories. For info or to submit your story, e-mail
onfaith@washingtonpost.com. And the archives are at
http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/guestvoices/archives.htm to see some of their previous published columns.
Fair warning: I've never sent them anything before now, so I can't say whether they will heavily edit things or how it is to work with them, and like I said, the commenters tend to be jerky. Also, I'm in no way connected to Newsweek or WaPo (I wish!). I just think it'd be nice to see a bit more diversity over there, and it gives pagans a chance to share info about the various religions in a mainstream publication with a huge readership.
Hopefully it's okay to post this here; I wasn't sure which board to use.
