In large ways and in small ways, we are all history geeks. I mean, after all, we worship religions that haven't been around in ages and for those of us on a reconstruction path, we have to take direct material from sources current as well as those written hundreds to thousands of years ago. So, maybe I'm a little weird, but maybe there's a favorite man, woman, or source that you prefer above all others? Who or what is it? Why?

My favorite is W.M. Flinders Petrie. I don't know why I like reading his stuff or reading about him as much as I do. Whenever I do, I sit up and I pay attention. Maybe it's hero worship or maybe it's a crush about a hundred years too late, but I sure enjoy everything he gave to the Egytological community!

I really enjoy the storytelling qualities of Simon Schama and Robert Massie. Though, for crush quality, Bettany Hughes is on top. Smiley
