I live about 15 minutes away from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. I think we'll be heading over there tomorrow evening.

And we had a great time!
We went to Goddard this evening, and it was a lot of fun. They had a bunch of telescopes set up, and the weather was perfect. We had a fantastic view of the moon -- it was a large enough telescope that the shape of the mountains were sharp and clear. Another telescope was set up for Jupiter. We could see the planet (including some of the color banding) and 4 of its moons all lined up in a row. AND Uranus was also visible in the same telescope! Very cool.
There were some activities for kids, and they were giving away Moon Pie.

Oh, and we heard two speakers, one talking about the
Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and some new discoveries about the moon and the other about work being done to research technology for future moon missions (that one was with the
NASA Desert RATS project).
Lots of fun.
