Checking the Skeptics Annotated Bible (because it has this sort of thing broken down into convenient categories) I think that Pyperlie was thinking about Exodus 21:17 -- "And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death."

Also: "For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death." -- Leviticus 20:9

I think that this is just a case of values dissonance.  One must remember that there is a big difference between today's morality and the morality of a hundred years ago, let alone 2000+ years ago.

True, but remember that Christian Recons like this one and would like to see it implemented.

Before  looking at the verses in context, I  would add to other comments that cursing someone would be  considered well beyond being mouthy...but calling a curse down on someone's head.  Remember that this is the same book where curses involved turning rivers  into  blood and  sending plagues of locusts.

Ah, but literally or with the 2,000 years of interpretation?
