I was going to post this earlier but I'd been unable to decide which board to put it in. Cheesy I finally went with the SIG, but if it's felt that it should go somewhere else, please move it. Smiley

Anyway, tonight feels like an appropriate time to share this song with everyone, so here you are:

Ready for the Storm by Déanta.

 Shocked

Oh, wow.  As a devotee of Manannan, that song makes me feel all sorts of shivery.  I can totally see Manannan taking in a lonely sailor...And the image of a lonely sailor is one that appeals to me so much...

Oooh, plot bunny!  Thanks!  [/offtopic]

Thanks so much for that!

As another devotee to Manannan, thank you so, so much. This was a really good time to hear that.

Anybody else have particular music that they associate with Him? Smiley

Ken Theriot's Son of the Sea was written about Manannan. Can't find anything on YouTube, but it is available on iTunes.

I'd love to hear what songs others associate with Him. I'm always looking for more!

Vienna Teng is fabulous!  I love her voice.

I think there is some connection to the Piano and the sea.  I wonder if there is any connection with Manannon as well?

Now I need to go digging for some tunes...Smiley

Great songs!  I peeked in here because he's been brought to my attention lately as I am a sailor.  Thanks for sharing all of this.

Anuna's 'Wind on Sea' always reminds me of Him.  It's on iTunes - I had a quick look on YouTube, but it doesn't appear to be there...

*goes back to listening to Ready for the Storm on repeat*

I haven't heard/seen/read anything that associates pianos with Manannan, but IMHO pianos sound rather like water. Individual notes are like drops in a larger body, be it the sea or a lake, and many notes together in phrases sound like running water.

If you're interested, http://manannan.net is a fantastic resource!

All the music is lovely though, guys, and I can really feel Him in all of it. In terms of the piano to reflect Manannan/the sea, I wholeheartedly agree. For example, the following pieces really hit the mark for me.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIvkCtvalQ0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIvkCtvalQ0</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYCL8ONwH5M" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYCL8ONwH5M</a>

I'm going to see him live on friday! So excited. Smiley
