I feel like such an oaf! I totally thought today was the Solstice.  Embarrassed Oh well.. at least I was able to practice making my bread before the real day. Cheesy (I blame the eclipse! [And my faulty memory.])

One good thing about being on the West Coast is that I don't have to stay up all night long for the eclipse tonight ^_^ I might still have juice for tomorrow! XD

I'm not even going to be able to see it. :/ It's completely clouded over here, while last night it was completely clear!

Don't be sad.
It was visible over here only just before the moon set and it was way to cloudy to even catch a glimpse too.

No blood moon for us this time.

So, I'm off now to work, I'll check back on you all as soon as I'm home again. Wink

I really do have the damnedest weather luck.  We haven't seen the sky all day, and suddenly, just in time for the eclipse to start, the clouds part and thar she blows.  Smiley

the eclipse tonight
I just caught it earlier on starting at about 6 a.m Western European time. Have to drive down to Cork for one quick job today, and hoefully I can make it back before dark(unlikely being that it's dark by half 2!) Anyway, as the light will penetrate Newgrange today, Grianstad an Gheimhrigh shona, agus Happy Yule to everyone! I'll be firing up the Bloc na Nollaig tonight as the sun sets on it's shortest day of the year.

Same here in Virginia.  I've been watching it all night.  And since my sleeping patterns are naturally out of wack, I think I may be able to stay up for the entire vigil.  I would just need to sleep until three or four o'clock in the afternoon.

For the people who didn't get to see the eclipse, it's actually broadcast online: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/observing-the-planets. Not totally sure where this is though.
