I've got a much better track record than that for people getting it right the first time.  Just as well; it's plenty aggravating as it is.


I've never understood the problems people have had with my name, but I got used to it.

First name: well known in North American culture.  Second name: one syllable, one vowel, no doubtful phonemes (I would have thought).

But somehow in my life I have gotten used to being written down as Marlene Chan so often I've actually considered just starting out that way, in spite of a distinct lack of Asian features.
