In the early 80's or late seventies, there was a 1 season (or less) series on American tv about a medival family.  The father was a lord, the daughter was ditsy and I remember her wanting to own all the diamonds in the land, one son was a hero in  the army, well actually, he was a cook, another was facing having to go study to be a churchman, except he was in love with the daughter of the mortal enemy of the father, and there might have been more children.  One episode had a nobles meeting at another castle to collect taxes and send them on to the king, but they were robbed, and someone (I think the Dad) figured out that the lord hosting the meeting arranged the 'robbery', and the young man did something somewhat heroid with the daughter of the mortal enemy.

This has been bugging me for at least a week, I have hunted all over IMDB.  Help!

Is that it? "Wizards and Warriors," with Julia Duffy (as the ditz), Clive Revill as Vector the wizard, and Duncan Reghere as Dirk Blackpool?

If that's not it, the only other one I can think of is outside the timeframe you give--and that's "Coventry Crossing" with Nigel Terry (of "Excalibur" and, much much earlier, "The Lion in Winter"). But there wasn't a ditzy daughter in that one...

I'm thinking of covington Cross and must have somehow put the ditz in there, cause she didn't really fit.  I could have sworn that was when I was in high school rather than after I was married, but obviously it wasn't.

Thank you!

Thank you!

I *never* get that title right, no matter how many times I hear it. Probably because I missed the show completely for the brief time it was on.

Glad I was able to help you, though. :-)

Once you gave me Nigel Terry I could find it on IMDB.  Thanks.
