Have you ever helped Santa out for a young child?  Made sure the kid gets what the KID wants and not what the adults necessarily think is most right?

I've volunteered myself to make a (small) dolly for a little boy - ALL he wants is a dolly from Santa.  That's IT.  But there's a push-back from some of his family .. boys don't get dollies.

I'm going to crochet a little dolly for him.  with probably an army-green style jacket so it looks manly enough to make the rest of the family back away.

His grandmother is over the moon at this.

Yes!  I bought a Tonka bulldozer (yellow metal heavy-duty one) for my friend's daughter, who was desperate to play trucks.  Her mother thought it wasn't appropriate.
