Square is an application that enables anyone to accept payment cards using their mobile device. Check out what Square has to offer at squareup.com. Click through the tiles at the bottom right of the page or on the arrows at the left and right to navigate through the features of our hardware and app.

I heard about this today. All I know so far is you plug your phone into it, and swip credit cards.

All right, I goofed. I should have checked the poster's history before hitting the spam alarm. My apologies to mlr52...sorry, though, but I haven't heard of Square.

It's ok. I did not realize it could be taken that way.

It looks like you need an Iphone/Ipad or an Android phone to use it. While I would not want to use it without seeing a track record of their business  (which they just don't have yet), it looks like it could be useful for those who sell services to customers at the customer's location and want to actually swipe the card instead of just getting the info and competely the transaction at their office.

Looks interesting - though like Randall I would like to see a history.  I already have a wireless unit for accepting cards at events, so I don't have any need to get a smart phone and the app.  In the future we might consider this, but our wireless unit is so easy the SO was kind of disappointed!
