Hi, all.

I know everyone is very busy with the holidays, so I'm extending the deadline to participate in the cross/brat exchange.

I don't think I will participating this year.  I have so much going on with my move, school, and work that I'm just not going to have the energy for this one.

Last year I didn't post a list, so the surprise element was more preserved.  I have no strong feelings on this, though, so I can post a list of who I have so far, if that would be helpful.
The surprise element is nice, but not essential (and there's still some element of surprise) - I'd put "making sure everyone who wants to be included, is" at a higher priority.  One way I see to do both is to send a response to each PM, so each person knows their request has been received and logged - but if your spoon supply doesn't cooperate, do what works.

That's kind of more for future reference; I'm not sure it'd still apply for this year.

I was planning to use the same system I used for last year's cross/brat exchange and for this year's solstice card exchange.  Once the deadline passes, I'll do a random draw to determine each participant's recipient.  Then I'll PM each participant with the name and address.  Then I'll post a message in this thread letting people know they should have a PM from me.  If someone doesn't, they can get in touch with me and I'll find a way to fix it.

That worked perfectly for the last two exchanges, so I think it will be fine.  Plus, it's easier than me PMing everyone twice --once to confirm their initial PM and then to give them the contact info.

If someone has an idea for a better system, I'm all ears.  Easier is always better.   Cheesy

I hadn't thought of that part (bolded bit) - yeah, I think that's as easy as it gets.  Fixing on the fly if something does get messed up could be tricky, but your experiences say that doesn't seem to be typical, so it's not worth taking extra steps to avoid.

Hey everyone,

Aster asked me to let you guys know that she's unavailable at the moment due to computer/internet failure. She hopes to get things resolved very soon though, and she should be able to send out the PMs to everyone on Wednesday. We can all be working on our items in the meantime.

Thanks y'all!

Thanks, Finn!  Things seem to be fixed now.  I hope.   Wink

I just finished sending PMs to the Cill members who are participating in this year's Cross/Brat Exchange.  If you PMed me to tell me you want to participate, but you have NOT received a PM from me listing your recipient's name and address, please let me know via PM ASAP.

We have a smaller group this year, I think, with seven participants.  Actually, I don't really remember how many people participated last year, but it *feels* like a shorter list this time around.   Undecided

Please remember to get your cross/brat in the mail (or UPS or FedEx or whatever) in time to reach your recipient BY SATURDAY, JANUARY 29, to give your recipient time to place the brat outside over Imbolc night for Brighid's blessing.

If anyone has any questions, please let me know.
