I'm a psych major. My undergrad degree is all but useless without at least a master's.

Religion major with a concentration in Classical and Mediterranean Studies. Would you like fries with that in grammatically correct Ancient Greek.

I went back to finish my BA when my kids were in elementary school, and actually had people not understanding why I was getting a degree in accounting.  I should have answered "because I won't have to say do you want fries with that!"

I think the problem is that truly interesting things to study do not often lend themselves to making a good living.  Accounting bores the hell out of me, but it pays the bills and was a lifesaver while I was a single parent.

I'm planning to go onto graduate school and get a ministry degree, so hopefully I can do something I enjoy without invoking the wrath of the fast food goddess. Although who knows, in this economy...

I think you'd do well in law--you're good at seeing the implications of different concepts, and at research, and at expressing your ideas coherently. I considered it myself, but I felt like I was pushed into more of a healer's direction, even though blood makes me sick. So I'm studying psychology.

Thank you. Smiley I've considered it once before, as well as med school (my aunt was a doctor, but like you I get squicked by blood - and needles!). Actually seriously considering law now, because with the First Nations degree I can make more of a difference in advocacy as a lawyer (and get paid more too). I hate to seem like someone concerned with the bottom line more than changing the world, but if I can't eat I can't do much. And I'm going to be graduating with over 60K in student loans. If I don't get a good paying job (and even if I went into being Crown Counsel, starting pay for that is 60K a year), I won't ever pay off my loans.

I think I may avoid being a trial lawyer, however. Average career expectancy before burn-out for a trial lawyer is 6-8 years. My dad did 23 years, but he's a sociopath. I'd rather stay human.

Yay! Keep it up!

Thanks!

It helped me to put a raw schedule into my calendar in which semester I'll do which course, which paper, which practice etc...

I tend to do that too. Smiley I find I need to have everything written down in front of me, or I get distracted by shiny things. Cheesy
