Okay I am developing a website for my wife's little group she has on Facebook. I have installed a forum (go figure I cheated and used simple machines forum).  I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a tutorial on which file i need to manipulate to keep the banner and site links from the website itself?

I'm not sure what you are asking. If you want to surround the forum with the header/footer of the web site there are a couple of ways to do it. First, at least for the 1.1.x version, there is a global header/footer mod. This just lets you put the header and footer html into the page via the Admin area. If this does not work -- and it doesn't on TC -- you have to look at the index.template.php file for your theme and modify it. I don't know of a tutorial on this, I just figured it out and did it. (Not much help, I know).

WARNING: In either case if you have CSS conflicts between your  web site CSS and the CSS used by SMF, you will have to resolve those.

Thanks Randall! I thought I might have to do it the hard way.  Time to research PHP. LOL.

Is the Shoutbox on here from a SMF package by chance?

Fortunately, you don't need a lot of php knowqledge to add headers and footers to the template.

It's part of the Tinyportal package we use.

Randall if you happen to see this how did you integrate FlashChat into your site? I followed their instructions but have had no success.

I used an SMF Mod that handled it most of it automatically. Making it work with the SMF database was easy -- I just followed the instructions on the Flashchat site, although I had to do a bit of coding to handle our non-standard staff user groups. Integrating it with SMF 2 is reportedly much harder.
