Do those little grin doggie biscuits that're shaped like toothbrushes help any?

I don't know if they really do.

BTW, I see this thread hasn't been updated. He had his teeth cleaned and five pulled. He is doing well -- and is much more adoptable. Once he loses a bit of weight, we'll start taking him to adoption events. Even at 10, I think he is quite adoptable. He's extremely friendly and loving and generally is well behaved.  He's be a great dog for an older person/couple, for example.

Like Randall said, Snickers is doing well...particularly now that he's had his nasty mouth seen to. The clinic actually posted before/after photos on their Facebook page, and one of the techs said she thought his teeth were the worst she'd ever seen. Rotting teeth, bleeding gums, rotting food. Anyway, five were pulled and the rest cleaned and he's on antibiotics. He's got a bad gag/snort that has to be related to the mouth because after a few days of antibiotics, it's gotten much less frequent and much less severe.

Anyway, he's doing well and sliding right in with the group.

The blog has been updated. Smiley

Snickers is a lovely looking dog, glad you are coping with the pills, albeit a struggle.  Good luck with him.  Smiley

And a quick update.

If all goes well, Snickers will meet his new mom Friday afternoon.

Yep. The paperwork is being processed and he will be in his forever home. Smiley

That's great news! Congratulations!

I heard from his new mom this evening, and she's taken care of the paperwork and payment. I'll call the shelter tomorrow to set up a time for Snickers to meet his new mom on Friday.

This is really great. I'm so happy for both of them (even if Snickers doesn't understand yet). Smiley

I think Snickers will soon be very happy with his new mom. He'll get all her attention and he LIKES being the center of attention.
