Set the speed?  Wow, sewing machines with cruise control!  I can get behind that!

Given Lyric's foot problems, I think this would be a very good thing.

Purchase made. Not picked up yet, but we hope to get it early next week (weather permitting).

We decided to go with the Brother CS6000I because it had good reviews overall from all levels of experience, a price we could work with and some features that meant I might actually be able to use it.  We were also able to get it through Walmart in case there is a problem with the machine from the beginning and we need to return it. That local option became pretty important.

 I know some sewers recommended against it, but Randall and I figured that for beginners, it would be a decent place to start. We can always upgrade if the expertise level goes up and the need increases.
