It is that time of year again, when bloggers around the world post a favorite poem in honor of Brigid, the Irish goddess and patron saint of smithcraft, poetry, and healing. Brigidís feast day is February 1st, so between now and then is the perfect time to publish a poem to celebrate.

How cool is this? I yanked this off of Facebook: this year there's a new Community Page on Facebook (just search for Brighid Poetry Festival) or link through the blog post below.

If anyone posts a poem on their blog, please do post a link to it here so we can read it!  Smiley

I posted the poem I wrote last year on my blog here. If I write anything else, I'll be sure to post it as well. Smiley

Innocence and Immanence

"i am not an angry girl, but it seems like i've got everyone fooled -- every time i say something they find hard to hear they chalk it up to my anger and never to their own fear. and imagine you're a girl, just trying to finally come clean, knowing full well they'd prefer you were dirty and smiling."
