So, Shad, Fierflye, and I were speaking and we'd like to have a SIG added for Flamekeeping.  Is this something that could be done?

Thanks!

Thanks, Randall!  Here's the Intro, Special Rules, etc.

What is Flamekeeping?
Flamekeeping is a pantheistic philosophy in which the Divinity of all is celebrated.   The main goal is to aid in the growth of the Universe by improving one’s self and the world around the self.

In this context, Flamekeeping is not a Brighidine group.  This is not to say that those who follow Brighid and keep Her Flame aren’t welcome, but to clarify that Flamekeeping is not about tending a flame for deity.  It is about the bringing together of the Bright (external) and Dark (internal) Flames in improvement of the Universe.

Flamekeeping has a definition and a structure, and the intent of this SIG is to focus on the discussion of Flamekeeping’s substance and incorporation into daily life.  While questions about the nature of Flamekeeping are always welcome, participants in the SIG should remember that the goal is to discuss and debate ways to encourage growth of the individual, the community and, through them, the Universe.

Why do I get the feeling that if TC gets a huge influx of new members who actually stick around, we would be credited for spreading two (and maybe more) new religious movements in the pagan community?

Thanks!  I also need a short description for the SIG on the FDorum list. Something like this one for the Celtic SIG:

"The Hazel and Oak SIG is a community of people with a shared desire for a historically informed religious practice based on the religious beliefs, practices and encompassing cultures of the ancient Celts. Our members come from a wide variety of religions and paths; some may be wholly Celtic in focus, and others may not. We have a healthy love and respect for history and research, and welcome unproven spiritual gnosis when it is properly identified. Continental, Insular and pan-Celtic approaches to Celtic spirituality are all welcome here."

It really should be Shad mentioning this, not me, but I'm here and I think this is important enough not to delay mentioning:  Shad's FlameKeeping is spelled with an upper-case K, which can be helpful for people keeping it straight from the Brigidine (or any other "for a hearth/flame deity") sort.

Here you are, Randall:

"The FlameKeeping SIG is a forum dedicated to discussion of the pantheistic philosophy of working toward the improvement of the Universe. FlameKeepers believe that the Universe is divine and greater than the sum of it’s parts. By cultivating their personal Dark and Bright Flames, FlameKeepers advance themselves and their communities.  Discussion centers around enrichment of the philosophy and incorporation into everyday life."
