My sister in law and baby  nephew (born 02/14) live south of the quake zone but we haven't heard from them yet.  I'm quit worried as they live on a small island near the coast of Honshu (it's connected by a bridge so it's not too far from the main island) so are especially vulnerable. Any prayers energy etc would be very much appreciated.

Sending my prayers for your relatives. Here's hoping that they're perfectly all right and that you just haven't heard from her because the disaster knocked out communications.

Oh, that's wonderful to hear. Will send some good thoughts along anyway, I'm sure they and the people in the area can use it nevertheless.

I'm relieved to hear that! I'm a bit worried about a friend traveling in Japan, even though he's way north of the site.

I was stationed in the Aomori prefecture at Misawa AB for three years plus in the military. A lot of the towns and cities in the news are places I spent time. It's surreal and horrific. Some of the footage showed people trapped in cars being swept away by the tsunami. I hope and pray your friend is okay. Is he/she on Sapporo?

Shikoku. I was wrong: they're way south of the quake. And they should be up in the mountains by now, but we haven't heard from them (consequences of being in the mountains and possible communications interruptions).

That's great news. I'm praying for everyone affected by the quake and the resulting Tsunamis (which pretty much means the entire Pacific rim).

And they're officially okay. Barely felt a thing, apparently.  Roll Eyes
