I actually heard a discussion about the change in laws regarding lightbulbs on Diane Rheim.  People will still be able to buy incandescent bulbs because the law actually just requires that all bulbs meet a standard of efficiency which newly designed incandescents do meet.  I don't know if they get as warm as the old bulbs though...

Bingo...which is why the new bathroom vanity light I just bought will be installed pointed *down*...if all I could get were CFLs, it's go the other way.
