I am going to side with those (basically all of Sunflower P's post) that this could quite possibly be a combination of both your mental illness, and reality. However one thing I didn't see covered (and I was skimming as well, so I may have missed it) is that if you are experiencing talking to another being, and the information you're getting seems to be false (I am also in the camp of "unless you did something so horrendous and completely offensive to the gods, they don't hate you")... it is quite possible it's a malignant spirit/being/whatever that's playing on your fears and causing your mental disorder to kick into gear. I mean, you're getting the message that the gods hate you, and that you're completely alone save for a select few. You're not going to reach out for help to those that can help you deal with your mental illness (I would view both Dionysos and Apollon as suitable gods to petition, and as it's been stated before, they are complimentary in a lot of ways and often shared temple space. The dual nature of the two are often over-played, however.).

I'm not saying that IS what's happening.. but it seems like a possibility. I'm not one to go running around talking about all the negative energies everywhere and completely scrub my house down and smudge and set up barriers everywhere for fear of bad stuff coming in every week. I just wanted to let you know it as a possible option, so you can research and see if things match up, and go from there. Because malignant spirits are not above pretending to be gods just to screw with your life, but I think that instance is few and far between.

Good luck, and I hope you can figure this out soon!

I'm curious, when you say that the dual nature of these two is often overplayed, are you referring to them commonly being thought of as basically opposites of each other? (I definitely agree to that) Or are you thinking more of the two together and their many intertwining similarities? (In which case, I'd be interested in knowing where you see this often enough to think it overplayed, because I don't see it terribly often at all and I'd love to see it discussed more.

Sorry if I'm over-thinking this one, you just kinda brushed up against some of the key elements of my views of those two, so I was just wondering.

Very interesting thought I must admit...
I never thought in that way...
Anyway, I don't pay attention to the issue which is the reason why I started this thread...
I again established a satisfying relationship with Netjer, Egyptian deities, and I feel very good now...
The main problem was - Netjer did not talk to me for couple of months, possibly because I was in such a chaos with my college, so I didn't have time for my spirituality...
It will remain a big mystery for me, what happened then, when "Hecate" told me those things, but at this point, I'm sure it was product of my mental illness...
Thanks to everyone for posting here, I appreciate these posts and enjoy reading them. Smiley

The former, pretty much. It gets a bit old coming across the same old thing over and over again, over often superficial attributes (that the other often has as well!) and it seems in most cases people just regurgitate the information without really thinking about it. I absolutely LOVE reading the latter (and on a related tangent, reading about the interplay between Apollon, Dionysos, and Hermes), and I don't think it's overplayed at all. I actually wish more people who discuss it or write about it.

No problems. I think we're on the same page, actually. Smiley

Yeah, I think so too. I did have a big, long ramble that I wrote out a long time ago- not sure if I ever actually finished it, I should dig it out and slap it up somewhere. I agree about the interplay between the three too.

Alas, I should also stop before I cross the line into full-on threadjackign. heehee
