Now I hadn't heard of Cottage Witchery until I read your post. I checked it out online and the book sounds interesting.
Sounds like something that will motivate me into action. I have been wanting to treat my whole home as a magical place, but the idea seemed a bit overwhelming and I didn't know where to start.

I was thinking of maybe dedicating some rooms to deities, almost like an undercurrent theme. (Nothing obvious like a big idol in the livingroom or anything - lol) I love to have magical items around, but don't want them to be the main focus of a room, especially the kitchen.

The book isn't too "Martha Stewart-ish" is it? You know - herbs in vases that need to be changed out with the seasons or homemade soaps in the bath?

I recently saw some "fairy doors" door toppers I thought were a cute accent yet would allow for positve energy flow from room to room.

I may pick up a copy yet!

If it were Martha-ish, i'da thrown it out. Not at all. The story in the very beginning gets me everytime. Thats how I knew i'd love the book.

I know what you mean about the items in different rooms. I love a small symbol I can look at and it makes me smile, it almost gives an under current that can be felt whenever you go in the room, but isn't over powering or the sole focus, like a pagan/dedication.altar room would be.

I also did like Cunninghams book bc it gave SO MUCH lore and superstitions and little facts. I got completely wrapped up and enthralled in both books.

Best of luck and hoping you do pick the book up, it's lovely.

Bright Blessings

~Dont believe in anything simply because you have heard it, simply because it's spoken and rumored by many, simply because it is found written in your religious books, in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders, in traditions becuase they have been handed down for many generations. But after careful observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conductive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.~*~Buddha~*~
