. . . sorry, I can't seem to come up with a wittier subject line on an overcast Monday morning, coffee or no!

I wound up checking this place out after recently reconnecting with an online acquaintance who spends a fair amount of time here, and (entirely separately) having a quote from this site referenced - and wrangled over - in a discussion on another forum. I've liked what I've seen, so I signed up and here I am doing the intro bit. *grin* Hello!

I've been Pagan for. . . well, a long while now. More than one decade but less than two. I started out Celtic to honor the ways of my ancestors; the first materials I read were from OBOD, and I later became quite involved with ADF. Over time I shifted more to the reconstructionist side of things, balanced with a significant mystical practice. I've done a fair amount of Irish group work, since those are the communities I have found myself in, and community is a good thing. Welsh was my primary personal focus for quite a long while, but I've been shifting more towards Romano-British/Gallo-Roman/Continental Celt/Germanic over the past few years (advice: don't go poking around old places in France unless you really mean it!). Interestingly, recent genealogical research further into the past in my family supports going in this direction. Go figure.

I also have an entirely separate, very limited home devotional practice to some Kemetic deities. The how/why of this is a long story. Short version: per my views, when you go to the Otherworld, it's smart to talk to Whomever chooses to converse with you. When Someone acts as your ally, hospitality/reciprocity demands that you seek to support the relationship by honoring Them in turn, and respect means you try first whatever manner is the custom in Their home culture. YMMV.

I think I'll leave things as that; it's a fairly representative nutshell, and I'm always open to questions. :)

Regards,
-- disirdottir.
